Antique Victorian 15ct Gold Huge Rose Cut Foiled Diamond Cluster Ring / Size Q

A beautiful solid warm rose gold antique ring, an original Victorian era piece circa 1850-1880. This beautiful antique ring is a cluster design, with a central large diamonds and a border of 10 slightly smaller diamonds. All of the diamonds are an old rose cut, claw set, and backed with silver foil to give them a grey sparkle - foiling stones was typical practice in the Victorian era, this allowed the stones to sparkle more under candle light. The head of the ring (cluster part) measures 1.5 cms. This ring is a large chunky statement design, not small and dainty like many rings of this style.

All of the diamonds have been tested with a Presidium gemstone tester, and are guaranteed as real diamonds. All of the diamonds have small natural inclusions but are still bright and sparkly, with a seductive grey/silver glow thanks to the foil. They all vary ever so slightly in tone from each other, one in particular is a little more dull than the others (the foil has worn a little behind this one) - but these should be considered natural traits from real gemstones. It's very hard to tell carat weight of old rose cut stones, as all of these stones are closed back we can only provide an estimate unless we take the stones out (which we can't do due to disturbing the foil) but we estimate the diamond content of this ring totals approximately 1.30 carats. The middle diamonds measures 6.5 x 5 mms in size, a size worthy of being a solitaire alone! Each of the diamonds in the border are around 3 - 3.5 mm's in diameter too.

This ring is a gorgeous work of art and so amazingly sparkly - don't let the photos fool you, this ring is bright and amazing in person which was almost impossible to capture in the photos. Please send us a message on Instagram (Dear Rose, With Love) and we can send you a video of this ring in action, sparkling in natural light. It would make a beautiful right hand ring, or even alternative engagement ring.

Approximately Size Q (a medium to large finger size). US size 8. This ring may be a difficult one to re-size due to the foiled backs of the stones that would be sensitive to heat, we recommend showing your jeweller photos and asking prior to purchasing if they can re-size it to save disappointment. Unmarked but fully tests as solid high carat gold of 14/15ct. The ring weighs 5 grams

In good antique condition with light signs of wear as to be expected from an item over 100 years old. There are faint surface scratches to the gold band. There is solder evidence on each shoulder, but the face of the ring is still securely attached with just a slight gap on one side (which doesn't affect the stability). A couple of the diamonds have minor nibbles and scratches but overall they are lovely with little wear. Please see the photos. Will be sent in a gift box, but not the one pictured as this is my display box.

Please be aware that we used a macro lens to photograph our item close up and allow you to see details, this may make them appear bigger on the screen than in person, so please made sure you read the dimensions and weights listed for clarification.
